Pottery-making is an ancient and beautiful craft that has always played an important role in Myanmar's history and culture. While nowadays most pottery throughout the world may be made en-masse in large factories, the workshops Twante- just across the Yangon River- are different. We travelled there to visit some bamboo-built workshops where pottery pieces small and large are still made by hand from scratch by husband and wife teams. A visit is easy to plan and makes for an interesting day trip from Yangon.
