Some historical sites in Mandalay to be developed as Historical Parks

Some selected historical sites in Mandalay will be developed as Historical Parks, said Myanmar Tourism Federation. Some historical buildings, over 150-years- old, filled with Myanmar traditional art and sculptures such as King Wun Min Monastery, Shweinpin Monastery, Thingazar Monastery and Yawmingyi brick monastery will be developed as Historical Park to attract tourists. ‘We need to be careful as they are historical sites. It may not be perfect in the initial stages, but we gradually will do all necessary things,’ said U Kin Aung Tun, Deputy Chairperson of Myanmar Tourism Federation. When implementing, all the processes will be carried out, said Mynmar Tourism Federation, in line with the procedures and guidelines of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture because those places are historical sites and need long term commitment.

Some other historical sites such as the ancient city of Inwa and Myanansankyaw Palace including Thabyaydan Fortress, Sinkyone Fortress, Asaykhan Fortress are planned to be developed as Historical Parks to attract tourists.
